To promote your business have raffles where every guest’s name, for stays in a particular time-frame, goes into the drawing. Make the drawing a special event at your inn and invite the whole community to the drawing. Be sure that the drawing is truly random (There is software for this if you prefer to use the computer instead of drawing from a bowl.). Serve refreshments.
Make it clear that the winner if the grand prize does not have to be present to win. You offer door prizes by drawing to the attendees. Often, other businesses in the area will contribute door prizes for the recognition at your event.
Publicize the event on your website, on your social media, and in local papers, magazines, and radio. Your goal is to make it one of the significant community events in your local marketplace.
Make it clear that the winners agree to having you use their names and photos in your promotional and marketing materials in print and on your website including your social media. That helps avoid legal troubles after the fact.
Post framed pictures of previous winners with their destinations in the background on your lobby wall with a big announcement about the next one! Take full advantage of the “buzz!”
For special events or during slow periods at your facility, you can offer 2 or more entries for each guest name/night rented.

- Scottish Farms and watch sheep
- Giraffe Manor – Feed giraffes at breakfast
- Promote Local attractions with special packages
- Zip lines
- Water Parks
Start with local and less expensive attractions for promotions and work up to the more exotic options as your promotional events and the buzz become more profitable.
