Problems With Your Hotel’s or Motel’s Presentation! Part 1

You cannot afford for your guest to expect to have a mediocre visit at your hotel!

How can you favorably influence your guests at the subconscious level upon their arrival?

Improve your business’s appearance from the outside in!
No hotel or motel interested in dominating its local marketplace should ever allow its landscaping to fall into disrepair.
Notice the lack of mulch. If you are going to add a barrier material, DO NOT allow the mulch to be blown or washed off by rains.

Start with the lawn and landscaping!

What would you, personally, think if you drove up to a hotel or motel and your lawn looked like this? Perhaps you would not be negatively impressed, but you certainly would not be favorably impressed. Realize that all of this happened in your subconscious thinking.

When your guests see the outside of your property that looks like this, imagine how they feel about how their stay will be.  If your landscaping and the general outside of your inn is in disrepair, they likely do not feel very good about what to expect about their stay.

 

 


This is just as poor an example of a motel owner or manager who gives little concern or attention to how his or her property looks to the guest. There is a missing shrub and the plastic barrier is showing with no mulch.

This example it just a off-putting to the guest, if not consciously, certainly unconsciously.

If there are several examples at a motel facility of poor care of the landscaping and grounds, the message becomes more and more embedded in the guest’s mind that this is a facility that may give me one or more miserable experiences during his or her stay.

It is simply a message you dare not shout to your guests!

And, yes, it is that same as shouting the message of mediocrity, at best, and misery at worst.

look at the weeds taking over the area that should be covered with mulch or some other landscaping technique that fills the bare ground and inhibits weeds.
